One issue with this is that it mixes hypothetical formal logic style problems (where there are clear, inflexible rules) with real life examples (where group membership/traits, cost estimation, and causal attribution are less clear) without always disambiguating which one is which. Fun quiz though!

Yes - I was given a syllogism that was logically correct but the Truthyness of the premises where wrong or misleading in the real world.

All pilots need a medical exam to have a license.

John is a pilot.

John has had a medical exam.

Pilots can be licensed without a medical exam. It is illegal for them to fly without a valid medical but the 2 are separate issues. Also LSA pilots do not need a medical.

This is geohot's newest thing. While he's definitely a cowboy, he has shipped hardware successfully at Comma.

He’s also been shipping the smaller petaflop tinyboxes with either nvidia or amd.

The author is a partner at a VC firm[0]. One purpose of content like this is to inspire future founders-to-be to make the jump to start their own companies (and consider working with the author's firm). To do this, one necessarily must glorify the end state of such a journey. Also, founder-centric VC firms tend to attract people with an optimistic view of founders.

Makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.

Also agree. I spent so much time messing with fuzzy matching libraries and NERs for various entity resolution tasks, collecting and cleaning lists of various entity types, and so forth. IMO you really need a model with the encoded world knowledge of an LLM to reliably and flexibly make determinations like that "WMT" and "wally world" are referring to the same corporate entity.

What do you mean when you say "external storage?"

A knowledge base - something where the LLM knows how to find the knowledge it needs for a given task. I am working on this idea in https://zby.github.io/commonplace/

A form of context engineering

In other words, "private credit" is private the way "private equity" is private, not how "private insurance" is private.

dude just wants his company to be in the news, so he tweets stuff like this

so are people! we overthrew multiple countries for banan

"Bananoi", please. They aren't Latin.

>AAP sits above transport protocols. MCP is a valid execution backend — so are function calling, REST, and CLI. AAP defines the what. Transport protocols define the how.

>[MCP] needs to die a SOAP death so REST can rise in it's place.

So is AAP a replacement for MCP or something that sits above it? If the latter, why use AAP over Skills?

Also, IMO the biggest problem with MCP is that it's over-specced and over-constrained. This feels even more over-specced.

You're right that I say both "above and not in place of" and "MCP needs to die"... I should that (but cant edit anymore).. it's unclear.... someday I see MCP being replaced by something else. But it's not my intention to completely replace MCP, but to solve the problem above it today.... I think that will be sufficient for today.

fun fact: when baking, you can use blood in many of the same places where you might use eggs, since the albumin proteins in blood coagulate the same way. There's untapped potential here for some very interesting "red velvet" cakes.

Salt and Straw used to have a savory chicken liver and pigs blood ice cream during Halloween season.

Was tasty.
