Agreed. Seems like the motivation was probably to make the candidate more willing to accept their offer as is without trying to negotiate.
The recruiter probably (rightly) thinks people who really want a job, think they lost it, then unexpectedly get the job offer back will be less likely to risk having the offer pulled because they negotiate too hard for a higher salary, remote work options, etc.
This! It is incredible that no one else so far has commented on this. I read the post and it seems that there is no accountability. What of your victims? The emotional toll of being sexually harassed can follow someone for the rest of their lives.
The thought of that was on my mind for a very long time. But the fact that I have no money coming in and no money planned is starting to take over all my thoughts. I'm in a giant panic and this blog post was written from that perspective.
There were SEC filings and some early employees have clear numbers there. Yes, there were some millionaires.
Not a huge number of them but at the time of the acquisition, the average tenure of an employee was under a year because of the fast growth rate.
Disclosure, I was and still am at Jet. I won't throw my numbers out but I will say it is bellow the million line but also under a year of time pre-acquisition.
