I went hunting on DanHulton.com for some more gold. I was fascinated by the "I Paid The Most" site, and was disappointed it wasn't a real thing (anymore).
I agree. I was there a month back and the EV adoption is incredible. From small scooters, delivery vans to sedans. EV is roaring there and from the little I saw, innovation growth is crazy. Went into a small factory for making solar street lights and it was full of solar panels and EV battery cells… note that this was a small factory with container loads of cells!
The mantra at aws is customer experience. Any time there’s an outage or impact, the first numbers to be stated are customer impact related. In fact, as an engineer you might be empowered enough to recommend a refund for a customer (even though the customer may be at fault) and the refund will go through.
Full disclosure: worked for aws devops for a couple of years
On another note, hooting continuously will make a chicken shake its head. Use a tone similar to an owl.. (hoooooooo). Doing that in a coop with hundreds… you’ll have lots of chickens disagreeing with you. Wonder if it has to do with standing waves and chicken ears
Yes, I worked in FANG and one of my pals didn’t have a degree yet was highly regarded in the company. What really matters is what you know and whether you can execute…
Not a rocket scientist or even a physicist.. but if i remember right, the bulk of your energy in a rocket is expended on your horizontal speed not the height gain. I came across this when I was looking up if it made sense to launch a rocket from an equatorial mountain like Kilimanjaro (6000m asl)
Yep, trying out a self hosted erpnext. It’s quite smooth and reliable especially when you compare it with Odoo. The cost for their cloud options is also way more economic to Odoo. Want to try out their integration with woo commerce.
The crazy thing is that the tax policies put in place by African governments push folks to buy old cars at crazy prices. A typical 8 year old second hand import car will cost more than the same brand new in the west. For example, a 2013 mazda Cx5 will cost ~20k (no warranty, caveat emptor..) while a new one in the west will cost ~30k usd. A new Cx5 in most African countries will set you back at least 60k usd. Why? Taxes! Buy the used car in Japan, get slapped with duties, add 16% vat and shipping cost. Typically, this doubles the purchase cost
Anyone know what’s the fuel combination of Estes? I live in a country where shipping this is probably impossible.
As a high schooler I was very keen on rocketry, we ended up cobbling one using a deodorant can as the body, a slurry of potassium permanganate and sulphur or sugar as the fuel (which was hypergolic at the wrong times) and an igniter which was a trail of the same fuel about 30 cm long. They’d take off and explode about 3m up (burn rate?). It was stupid and fun but the chemistry teacher killed it as soon as they became aware of it. Good times though.
