Hi HN – I’m 16 and just finished my GCSEs (UK exams). I’ve been coding and shipping small projects for a while, and wanted to turn this summer into something more focused and fun.
So I started Hustle2Grand — a public challenge to help teens earn their first £1k online. Could be from building something, freelancing, flipping, selling templates… anything. The only rule: post a weekly blog update to stay accountable.
No course. No product. Just a way to build momentum and stay consistent.
I’m doing it myself (coding + freelance) and hoping more people will join.
Would love any thoughts, feedback, or ideas for helping more young people build and earn online.
I’ve been working on GameGift, a platform that lets you create personalised games as gifts for friends, family, or anyone special. Instead of giving typical gifts, GameGift allows you to customise game templates (like clicker, escape, and shooter games) with your own images and text, making it a fun, interactive, and unique gift.
Here’s the concept:
Choose from 3 game templates: Clicker, Escape the Punch, and Boat Shoot.
Customise the game with your own images, text, and messages.
Share the game via a URL as a personalised gift.
It’s quick, fun, and affordable, with each game priced at £5.
I’d love to hear what you think about the idea, the website, or anything that could be improved. I’m also looking for feedback on whether the customisation experience is smooth and how you’d see this fitting into your gift-giving process.
the goal: let founders and devs learn from mistakes instead of only success stories.
it’s fully open-source, and anyone can contribute their own post-mortem.
curious to hear what the hn community thinks — would you browse failures to guide your next project?
