> two generations apart

Maybe that's the reason, not the touchscreen?

Wait, so they get _heavier_ each generation?

I don’t buy it.

So you'd rather buy the far-fetched conclusion that it's the touch screens fault?

Weird.

A bigger battery is the more likely cause.

> If you are using Claude Code to build a high-risk AI system, this feature cannot strip provenance from your code. Your build does not contain it. Your quality management system is not affected by a feature you cannot access.

I don't get this point at all. First of all, you can tell Claude NOT TO add any attribution. Second, you don't have to use it to create commits at all...

Also, I feel like people are overinterpreting. I do believe the primary purpose was hiding the model name and other internal details, not "silently infect OSS with AI slop".

> The Claude Code codebase has zero automated tests across hundreds of thousands of lines of production code.

Umm, how do we know that? Maybe they simply were not part of the package that got leaked?

TBH, this entire article feels sloppish. Maybe not necessarily careless AI-slop, but "there's a hot topic RN, let's write a lengthy article on our company blog despite not having much interesting to say"

You may have mistaken it with Codex

I'm pretty sure you already are. He's just rich.

I don't really understand this comment - most people are not this resourceful within the constraints of their own lives.

Keeping you alive should be the job of public, free healthcare and state-funded research.

It's my go-to (pun intended) whenever a native English speaker complains about other languages being "hard to pronounce" :)

"Ghoti" is an artificial example that doesn't actually work if you account for the way positioning affects pronunciation. Pull up a list of words that start with "gh": none of them (unless "ghoti" itself is on the list) start with an /f/ sound. You'll find the same for words ending in "ti" and the /ʃ/ sound.

I recommend asking people how "ough" is pronounced instead. Cough, bough, though, thought, through, thorough, hiccough--enough!

To be fair, the "ghoti" joke is not about pronunciation but rather about the perceived mismatch between the way a word is written and the way it is spoken.

> not about pronunciation

> about [...] the way a word is written [vs.] the way it is spoken.

That concept is called pronunciation.

Not exactly. Pronunciation varies between dialects and accents; it is the subject of a linguistic discipline called "phonology"; writing systems or difficulties arising from their "irregularities" with respect to spoken word do not concern it. Put differently, speech and pronunciation, while related, are not the same.

this is my personal favorite: https://ncf.idallen.com/english.html

A hyped startup providing zero added value, burning investor money only to repackage somebody else's work? That's new... /s

It depends on what you consider value. People are using it so they find some value.

Incompetently repackaging. They started with VSCode so nearly all the work was already done, but still managed to make it leak memory like it's infinite. The power of AI slop! Their product is an anti-advertisement for the core concept of itself, which is kind of impressive.

I like Cursor's AI projects a lot. Cursor Tab is truly impressive. But you couldn't be more right.

I just downloaded VSCode again today after Cursor's latest update dropped my editor to 5 FPS or so (legitimately unusable. not hyperbole.) and holy shit it feels snappy. Completely forgot what it's like.

[context: Polish meme]

I find myself compelled to initiate a critical dialogue regarding the professional integrity and ethical standards displayed here. Are you genuinely satisfied with your current trajectory? It appears there is a profound disconnect concerning the gravity of your actions and the fundamental tenets of human dignity. Frankly, your conduct is lamentable; it seems you haven't fully conceptualized the implications of disparaging a figure of such monumental global influence and historical significance as our Polish Pope—a leader who epitomized excellence and served as a cornerstone of faith for millions.

I am uncertain as to your background, but there seems to be a significant lack of emotional intelligence regarding the sanctity of belief systems. If you perceive this behavior as a hallmark of personal branding, I must clarify that it aligns more with social deviance than professional distinction. Why target a sanctified figure like John Paul II when history offers numerous examples of actual malevolence to critique?

The dissemination of such content on public forums raises serious questions about accountability and corporate social responsibility. Whether you identify as an atheist or align with alternative ideologies is irrelevant; leveraging your platform to mock a global authority figure suggests a disturbing lack of professional maturity. Consider the immense legacy he cultivated. He was a visionary leader; by comparison, what value are you adding to the discourse by resorting to such derision?

Who granted you the prerogative to insult a figure of this magnitude? If you believe this will garner professional accolades, you are gravely mistaken. To many, he remains the ultimate benchmark of leadership, whereas your influence seems limited to a niche of equally misguided individuals who disregard the cultural and religious pillars of our society. It is evident that you lack respect for these foundational institutions. If you seek attention, perhaps utilize your own image rather than hiding behind the desecration of others.

I urge you to reflect on your professional conduct. This level of intellectual immaturity is incompatible with the legacy of the Holy Father. It suggests a total absence of moral grounding and basic human decency. He never sought to offend; what, then, is your objective? I am truly at a loss for words, but perhaps engaging with foundational texts or seeking ethical guidance might facilitate a necessary pivot in your perspective. If you cannot align with these values, I suggest maintaining a professional silence rather than infringing upon the dignity of others.

e-government services should be open-sources by default!

Now there is an additional reason for that.

Public money, public code.

I sometimes also would like that, but you might reconsider that stance when your country is in war with another one.

Don’t forget it welcomes other app stores in the short term but no indication of a long term guarantee, because that’s how you get good PR.
