Large firms investing in early r&d happens regardless. It does not explain how you build new business on an idea you can’t convince large org politics to try.

It’s also what Xerox and Bell labs were doing in the 70s and what Google, Meta, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft etc are doing today but it took smaller more nimble players to actually do anything with the research. Case in point: transformers came from Google.

Sure I agree and good points. But my view is moreso in the scale of VC operations being a symptom of excess speculation, and society would be better off with stable investments. They are poor stewards of capital, and subsidized by the federal reserve.

I’m honestly more concerned that VC’s search for ever increasing sources of funding led them into the arms of the SA administration.

Saying they have ‘conservative values’ is the death blow to conservativism, given their explicit anti-democratic, and fundamentally extremist leadership

But the application form isn't asking for credit card info. (Does anyone know whether they ask for that later in the approval process?)

In any case, the fine print says that participants have to purchase after the expiration of the free period in order to to continue. Nothing is mentioned about having to give payment info upfront, such that the account automatically transitions to payment.

Participants who are already paying customers will have their payments suspended for that period, so I think for them it will automatically lapse back to paid, at least if their payment method is up-to-date.
