"a set of intellectual property rights [is] explicitly designed to favour corporations. This system — the flip side of globalisation — is propagated by various trade agreements and global institutions at the behest of the nation states who benefit from it the most. It’s no accident that Silicon Valley is a uniquely American phenomenon; not only does it owe its success to the United States’ exceptionally high defence spending — the source of its research funding and foundational technological breakthroughs — that very military might is itself what implicitly secures the intellectual property regime."

> its chief architect always came off like a schizophrenic

do you realize it's our economic system and the perversion of technology to literally criminalize cooperation and the sharing of information (intellectual property regime (read the book Abolish Silicon Valley by Wendy Liu for more) for one of two groups of people (workers and owners)?

> Maybe it's just me

normalization of an anti-human economy starts from day -9 months (i.e. health/ill-health of the human organism starts and depends on the health of the mother). what has the 'modern world' got to offer those who don't have clean drinking water due to imperialist systems?

i wish DIY.org (specifically Zack Klein -and team's earlier versions) was available as free/open source software libraries (and not just available for kids). a decommoditized, advertising-free and networked maker space everywhere

this is a great strategy and a patriotic one even, i mean, just imagine if the NSA were to lose their copy of your data and they'd actually need access to it. then they could just use whatever Intel Management Engine type backdoor software you need to access that person's personal devices and voila, you've got yourself a viable new copy of the file. let people collect their own evidence for you!

welcome to techno-feudalism.

welcome! http://scuttlebutt.nz (or http://manyver.se mobile app version)

Manverse as I remember has been slowing down in development for a while. Or has that changed?

yeah it’s a just way to covertly (by the videogamer crowd) call other people stupid.

> Login to the Mac in question

right, ok? as Snowden thankfully heroically warned us, the NSA already has root-level access to most devices.

“ Remember the Spectre vulnerability. Now we have more than 7 variants of Spectre. No one guarantees that new, more destructive versions of this vulnerability will not be discovered in the future.”

> If someone can find a way to do this without installing kexts then it becomes way more serious.

right, yeah, you’re onto the right trail now.

> I actually started learning Science since 11th grade.

what event caused this? was it specific material or a specific teach or approach?

A teacher, or two.

One taught me about what rigor was. In so many ways.

Another taught me that there is another side of Math. The non-heuristic parts. The stuff where is there is reason, logic, etc.

Dad took a broadband connection, and watching YouTube became realistic. I got 3b1b, Numberphile, MIT OCW.

Edit: My discovery of Halliday, Resnick, Walker physics textbook and Feynman lectures also was helpful. It was mostly- the Internet.
