Yes if they don't speak english they will want to use non ASCII identifiers because that's what non english words use.

One of the business for interviewers our company has is to leave a good impression even on a weak candidate. This makes for an overall better experience and, should the candidate become a better fit in the future, we do not want to lose them.

One of the "goals" not business but ok.

Accepting feedback, but also providing feedback, also asking for it. So being able to initiate a conversation when needed is an important skill.
