Yes, keeping a note for future. When we accepted the order, EIN was a 3-4 day process and suddenly everything went chaos with the covid impact. But surely a lesson managing expectations.
Thanks for the input! I am trying to see how we can solve this. I offered a $200 discount (our total price was $599) and they were still not ready to accept.
Got it. My idea is to simplify pricing and just offer the core functionality and not too much distraction. Pricing is one reason I decided to build this. Agree about the free market. I was also more concerned about how existing products we know would influence our thinking about the product (even though I could see a few different directions this could go).
Oh I see. I think your self-awareness about the fact that other products will influence you is probably a good sign. None of us build products in a vacuum, I think most companies (big & small) keep tabs on their competitors to get ideas. Is it immoral for eCommerce websites to also implement things that Amazon does? Unless it is something that has some protection (i.e. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1-Click), I don't think there is really a problem. Your competitors are also looking at your site, doing similar things.
This might make you feel a little bit better, instead of focusing on the other products. Focus on your own, what features do YOU need? Build for that and let your customers guide you product. At your lower price point, you might be attracting customers with different pain points than your other higher priced competitors. This way you are solving your problem but your journey might take you on a completely different path. Use their features as inspiration but not necessarily your own road map.
:) Thanks for the feedback. Will keep in mind! I was not planning to build an exact rip-off but rather thinking how existing products that we know would influence our thinking.
Hi - here is a quick demo https://demo.toclient.com/ Very early stage, questions customizations in beta, can be used for customer Onboarding, lead generation, requirement collection, possible to integrate on a current website without much effort. Can you guys give it a try and send some feedback/feature requests?
Would love a typeform alternative. I used to love Typeform but as of v2 (which I think coincided with them raising VC money?) it became stagnant, heavy and crappy. Plus they made some breaking changes without as little as a notice or publishing some kind of changelog...
... had a quick look at the demo on my phone and it’s not what we need however. We use typeform for other purposes, and also the chat-like interface was an immediate turn off (again for our use case, I can imagine for client prospecting maybe it’s different).
Best of luck! I genuinely want a better typeform out there and the sooner the better :)
Noted! We didn't start out as a Typeform alternative. We just launched and had a couple of hundred users, and many user requests were making us more and more "Typeform" alternative. So I used the title. Anyway responding to your question, we had a few people tell us they don't like chat-bot experience, so we might give an option for the user to switch between chatbot and form experience. Thank you for the feedback!
Removed the initial intro, my intention was more to showcase the startup, progress and then how to go about next steps given my problem. Thanks for the feedback :)
I've tried cold emails, while they work many times, a lot of times good investors value intro over cold emails.
Now the intro has changed, I'm unsure what you are asking for. If you need funding, either bootstrap or find a co-founder who has the social capabilities you need to raise funds. Bootstrapping is lot easier IMO, and carries less risk.
If you are funded and want to market/sell your product, get a sales person (part time, perhaps). Cold calling (whether by email or phone) requires a specific set of skills and very thick skin. If that's not you, delegate.
If you have no choice but to cold-email, use Linked In so that they are targeted and get a marketing person's advice on how to phrase those initial contacts so you have a good hook.
(NB all the above is generic business startup advice, the same advice applies to anyone: identify the critical weaknesses; backfill from elsewhere.
I thought of like a version of cold emailing but more targetted. Just a little hack to get users. Not sure if this isn't ethical. But I am open to shutting it down if everyone thinks it's not ethical :) This isn't our primary product, just stumbled on the idea while I was exploring growth tactics.
