Turn your emails into a personalized reading feed with full-text content, semantic search, and smart link extraction. Self-hosted, open source, and private by design.

"If you've ever emailed yourself before, this app is for you."

I got tired of read-it-later apps shutting down, and I tend to email myself everyday... wondering if there are others like me?

How It Works: 1. Email yourself a link (or any email matching your configured query)

2. MailFeed syncs it, extracts the links, and fetches the full article content

3. Browse everything in a clean reading feed with search and filters

Props to https://www.sentinelone.com/labs/macos-nimdoor-dprk-threat-a... for analyzing the hack in great detail.

I underestimated the delightful power of HN public editing, but rest assured the calculation cells are protected in the sheet :)

Planning to watch the 2hr video, but anything specific to call out?

My take: The “nothing to hide” argument is a fallacy for two reasons: (1) The connotation that things discussed in private are bad. True, criminals may discuss illegal activity in private, but that does not mean everyone’s private conversations are illegal. (2) The notion of what needs “hiding” is subject to opinion, and changes over time. You may not be breaking any laws today, but if the law changes and governments have access to your past data, you are now vulnerable and have nowhere to hide.

From my post about privacy not too long ago, https://www.davidexmachina.com/2020/02/privacy-matters.html

Moving costs include only 3 months of rent and the physical act of moving as described in https://github.com/davidd8/us-electoral-college-balancer#ass.... I tried to match it with what corporations do, which is generally give the employee a flat $10K "relocation bonus."

One could definitely make this more sophisticated and specific to state by state rules, but I didn't have the time. But feel free to play around with the numbers in the notebook, as this is just a starting point.

Thanks, I didn't know about that strategy!

Yes

Awesome!

Hi Bravura, thanks for the feedback! Sorry about the inaccurate NextMuni times - we had an issue earlier that would sometimes make arrival predictions fail to update, but it should be fixed now. If you have a chance to give it another shot, we'd really appreciate it!

I'll give it another shot.

Should be back up!
