There has to be some need for this in the legal industry. Good luck!

That 10% is the difference between a hobby and a product.

Great concept - good luck!

How the heck does anyone meet for coffee at 3pm on a Wednesday? I love OCC, but it would help if these events were 8am/lunch/evening to at least give those with real jobs a chance to make them.

That being said, hope to make it.

They usually last a couple hours, so I figure people can dip a little early from work, or pop away for an hour.

Real jobs? So you have a Real Job?

This site isn't that entrepreneurial anymore.

We have funding and customers. That means I actually work in an office and have responsibilities. Not easy to leave before 7pm.

"Startup" life is a lot different after you get out of the garage.

It also means you have some control over your schedule, doesn't it? Its just another business meeting, like any other. Sometimes people can make it, sometimes they can't.

Its been almost six months since one was held in the city, and I think I'm going to hold one every month, so if you can't make this one, make the next one.

Tell them you want a job at Zillow for $150k/year. You win, and they don't give in to your negotiations.

A full-time job? Sounds more like punishment than a prize. Mental freedom is worth more than $150k/yr.

... with a guaranteed 2 year contract. (since it's not worth much to be hired if you're then fired after a month)

They're great at looking smart, but anyone that has taken stats 101 can see right through their surveys. Attended a conference once where people just drilled the so-called expert of all the flaws in the data-collection methodology. Felt kinda bad for the person.

Not much else to add except I would recommend picking up two books as well.

1. A standard price theory text that will give you the basic tools of economists.

2. A book that provides real-world applications illustrating how these tools are used. (I agree - Basic Economics by Sowell is a great place to start.)

Solid design. Don't necessarily get the value prop. in a world of Google Docs/wikis - try to make that more obvious. Good start though.

You add so much value.
