I try to selfhost most of my stuff I rely on. Immich, Vaultwarden, etc. I gave up on trying to selfhost sync solutions for Obsidian - Obsidian Sync is just so damn frictionless compared to all other solutions. Also, it feels good supporting the development of Obsidian.

It works just fine, but every time you open the app you have to dismiss a dialog saying that the app doesn't work without Google Play Services installed.

dansup, the guy behind this, is the same guy that runs Pixelfed (a federated Instagram alternative)

Could you elaborate on why? This type of comment doesn't add any value.

Even worse is that they are pushing their subscription service now, Connect Plus…

> Yes, the water wheel will generate electricity all year round. In winter, it produces between 120 and 170 kWh per 24-hour period, with peak generation reaching up to 11 kW per hour. In summer, it generates between 3 and 5 kW per hour.

Seems like a nice complement with solar, given that they peak at each others inverse.

"kW per hour"

That’s exactly how I do it. I enjoy reading DRM-free epubs on my Kobo, and whenever I finished a book I enjoyed, I buy it from the local sci-fi bookshop. I buy about 90% of all books I read.

I used to do that with games back when I played. I was always a staunch advocate of, if it's good, people will pay, and I didn't want to be a hypocrite despite refusing to buy most games because they could not be returned afterwards. Even newer services that offer refunds make it more difficult than I'm willing to put up with. If I played it most of the way through, I bought it.

You have a SciFi bookshop? Where is it?

I'd appreciate that too. My dentist recommended me to use Duraphat, a 9 euro per 50 gram toothpaste.

How's Librem as a daily driver? Battery life, camera, reception/calls etc? I'm eager to get a proper Linux phone, but got burned by the awful performance of Pinephone.

An honourable mention to https://typ.ing too. It’s the same kind of tool from the guys behind the moonlander keyboard, ZSA.
