The 2026 third edition of the LaTeX Beginner’s Guide now includes a chapter on AI-assisted coding, writing, and formatting. Is AI making LaTeX and TikZ usable again for occasional users?
It's about the easy SVG conversion and getting TikZ as result, in perfect quality. It's not that TikZ made it. But now we can use TikZ on it, use the capabilities we can see in http://www.texample.net/tikz/examples/ , to annotate (SVG) graphics, to combine with LaTeX labels and notation. Tux was it for fun. It could have been an arbitrary technical drawing instead. It's about drawing or receiving SVG with a graphic software program, and re-using it natively within TeX.
The question & answer site tex.stackexchange.com is now more than one year old and has grown to a great TeX support web site.
Some of the most active contributors are members of the international TeX User Group (TUG). How about the other way round - how about Stack Exchange joining the TUG as institutional member? If you would like to support this idea, read and vote on the story.
