I have the same feeling.

Like there is no way in world that Gen AI is faster then an actual cracked coder shooting the exact bash/sql commands he needs to explore and writing a proper intent-communicating abstraction.

I’m thinking the difference is in order of magnitudes.

On top of that it adds context loss, risk of distraction, the extra work of reading after the job is done + you’ll have less of a mental model no matter how good you read, because active > passive.

Man it was really the weirdest thing that Claude Coded started hiding more and more changes. Thats what you need, staying closely on the loop.

Sounds like AI

I think if you drop this all you will absolutely kill it.

I'm not sure. I have a buddy that's one of the better engineers I know personally, and he struggled to maintain an "AI Lent" for even a month. He found he just wasn't productive enough without it.

He did a writeup: https://buduroiu.com/blog/ai-lent-end/

> I delivered more work that I was less confident about, making me more miserable in the process

Don't leave the kicker out of the story

The price is what maximizes profit (long term)

You can deterministically force a bash script as a hook.

That is exactly what I do. The bash script runs, determines that a code file was changed, and then is supposed to prevent Claude from stopping until the tests are run.

Claude is periodically refusing to run those tests. That never happened prior to 4.7.

That’s crazy, you mind sharing the gist for that part? Ideally with some examples.

This would be a new level of troublesome/ruthless (insert correct english word here)

Those are exactly the kind of issues you run into when your app is ai coded you built one thing and kill something else.

You have too many and the wrong benchmarks

The hallucination benchmark is hallucinating

Why is it all so asian?

Having 60% of the world’s population might do that.

My hint was at an issue in the american educational system.

I‘m sure if they could they would have shown more all americans. Especially given how important the state connection is for them to keep up their spending..

That means they struggle to find american technical presenters

What are these non-sensitive variables that could only be the NEXT_PUBLIC ones? else I haven’t seen any difference?

Or is it the UI sensitive that they ask you in CLI, that would be crazy. That means if you decide to not mark them as sensitive they don’t store encrypted ???

those are environment variables that the frontend can consume, hence the public prefix
