The case the right cares about is Roger Stone. He's an old man, no threat to anybody, who was involved in normal legal proceedings. Somebody decided to make an example out of him. He got a heavily-armed pre-dawn raid, and CNN was right there to watch.

This isn't going to go well for anybody above you, since you are only equipped to judge in one direction. Some ideas though:

1. generating new and unusual humor

2. spotlessly logical grammar, aside from interruptions like changing an argument mid-sentence

3. understands a huge vocabulary (note: doesn't necessarily use it)

None of those is going to get you very far. It's also very verbal-oriented.

You've created a heuristic that scores people as "not smart" if they are your political opponents or if they have different views on religion.

I wouldn't say so. Just looking at what Biden did as a senator:

In 1983 he introduced the Comprehensive Forfeiture Act, which became law in 1984. That's the main piece of law that enabled civil asset forfeiture. That's how cops take property, alleging it to be drug money without any evidence. It's legalized theft, turning cops into gangs that prey on the people. Black neighborhoods are popular targets. Note that "defund the cops" will make them rely more on this source of revenue!

In 1994 he introduced the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act. This is the infamous law that put many black people in prison for decades, particularly for crack cocaine. (meanwhile his own son smokes crack with impunity, aside from being tossed out of the Navy) Kamala Harris used the law very often as prosecutor. She warned against leniency, saying that she needed the prisoners to fight California wildfires. In other words, she wanted black slaves. It took Donald Trump to fix this problem, with him signing the First Step Act in 2018.

It really does seem that the facts are the other way around.

This is just really basic old-style security, like you could do over a century ago.

Kuwait collects DNA.

That message isn't as generic as it seems. It was introduced for political censorship, to suppress information detrimental to Biden. This is mainly the content of Hunter Biden's laptop hard drive, which wasn't even hacked. (he abandoned it, subject to state law and a computer repair contract) There was also a GMail account of a former business partner that was voluntarily turned over to reporters.

Stories about the laptop occasionally show up on HN, quickly flagged into oblivion. FYI, the video actually exists, but even the Biden-hating sites usually don't provide links because it is extremely NSFW. Those... scenes... are forever burned into my brain.

In lots of telescope designs, the sensor is behind the dish. The part in front of the dish is only a reflector. Done that way, weight of a transmitter doesn't matter.

It doesn't seem to have had a thought given to the possibility of repair. How would the center be lowered down for replacement? There doesn't seem to be a landing spot. One of the cables even had a catwalk, making it clear that there was no way to simply play out more cable to set down the center.

Next time, design for repair.

It wasn't designed to last 50 years. It was a throwaway DoD project from the cold war.

We have it right here. Hacker News is written in the Arc programming language, which was developed by Paul Graham and Robert Morris.

It's an excuse.

YouTube would not do this if CNN or MSNBC posted the exact same thing. The "fact checkers" would accept the video as new facts, or they would find some other way to be lenient.

Uneven enforcement is a great way to suppress an enemy. In terms of accuracy and bias, OAN is just like CNN and MSNBC, but on the other side of the political spectrum. (eh, maybe CNN is more extreme) Being a typical California tech giant, YouTube/Google has an obvious bias. OAN is the enemy.

Stuff like this happens far too often to be accidental or random.
