No, this is a link to a different post about the same change/glitch, not the same article. Is this a weak attempt to drive people to your blog?

not my blog :) This was the first source and wanted to share

This is an unprecedented change. We notice across the board reductions in how we ranked for all terms we're tracking. Lots of people seeing the same. Anecdotally, seems big companies are being prioritized while smaller businesses, blogs, affiliate sites are being penalized.

> while smaller businesses, blogs, affiliate sites are being penalized.

I feel some sympathy for the first two there, and am quite pleased the third category might stop showing up in my searches so often...

Yep, agreed. If you look at companies like Nebula Genomics [1] (disclosure: I'm a founder) or Dante Labs [2], they're doing whole genome sequencing for comparable prices. I'm not sure why we aren't seeing a more prevalent shift to next-gen seqencing. [1] https://nebula.org [2] https://dantelabs.com

I'm the founder and CEO of Nebula. I think in the not too distant future, everyone will get whole genome sequencing as standard of care. We think it's important to set up the privacy frameworks today around storing and sharing access to DNA. It's interesting because all of the risks of having your DNA data out there are not fully understood yet. And, as a consequence, legislation hasn't caught up to the technology. Should life insurance companies be able to use your DNA? Should schools be able to use it as an admittance criteria? Well, right now the law isn't stopping them from doing so. This hasn't been a huge problem today because, if you're really concerned about DNA privacy, you just won't buy a DNA test. But, sooner than later, you'll need genetic testing to get the right medicines, optimal treatments, best diagnostics, etc. Once whole genome sequencing makes the transition from consumer use cases to clinical ones, many users will be faced with choosing between their health and their privacy. We don't think that's a fair choice and think we need to start working on mitigating the privacy risks today.

Hey everyone! I’m one of the co-founders. Would be great to get some feedback or answer any questions!

Not related to the article, but what are the benefits of having your genome sequenced? What can you currently get out of it?

Putting "gifs.com/save/" in front of any Vine link (or Instagram!) converts it into a gif - you'll need an account.

Can also gif live streams (FB, Twitch, Youtube Live, Periscope), and any other video website by going to the home page.

wow super cool how accurate some of their predictions were. Curious to know which features are most predictive of box office success

We haven't found one particular feature to be the most predictive overall, across all different types of projects, but we have noticed that certain features are more predictive for certain projects. For instance, a horror film, on average, is more affected by the presence of other horror/thriller genre fare released within a 2 week range than an action/comedy/drama film.

whoa!!! this is some crazy stuff. I use gifs.com everyday

Great work guys! Definitely the smoothest way to make gifs I've found

Thanks so much for the kind words kobbad!
