My simple solution to prevent your site from looking "bootstrap-y" is to design a mockup of what you want to achieve first (in maybe photoshop or fireworks) then re-create that interface with bootstrap & make sure you use the design as a guide. Works every time.
That's the method I've tended to use, and it's worked great for me. The problem with starting from bootstrap is that it's incredibly well designed for specific purposes, and there's a fear that changing anything is making it worst for the sake of difference. By starting with the interaction design, not only can you cut down on the elements used from Bootstrap, you can find uniqueness and utility without losing too much.
Note that the HEADER tag here was replaced by HEAD in subsequent HTML versions. The current HEADER is a completely different beast, falling inside the BODY. The neat thing is that, since the BODY exists and there is no HTML node, current browsers are able to interpret this HEADER as if it were HEAD.
I'm just seeing this for the first time. I wonder how this doodle affected people's productivity. And considering the height, where was the search field placed?
I deleted my facebook account last year after i upgraded to the new timeline which was still a preview to developers only. I was concerned about the lack of privacy at the time, it was only till recently that they included more settings.
The one thing i regretted the most was losing my facebook vanity url. Even after deleting your account your url (facebook.com/username) is gone forever!
