Mother Anthropic needs more compute for their Mythos Model, so it phones home to tell her millions of claude harnesses to manipulate its human user into not wasting more precious compute and instead call it a day for now.
That will get their attention - to blacklist you from ever doing business again with them. People saying this is a nuclear option are telling this because they know what a charge back means for a business owner. So treat it like that.
> With Managed Agents, you define outcomes and success criteria, and Claude self-evaluates and iterates until it gets there (available in research preview, request access here). It also supports traditional prompt-and-response workflows when you want tighter control.
Call me stupid, but this sounds not like they want software developers to be around in a year or two.
Anthropic is very far ahead on agentic engineering. There is more to getting it to work than it looks, and their models might be directly trained to know how to use the claude code harness.
But beyond that, AWS is a very complex platform. Agents simplify saas, the agent itself manages the api calls, maybe the database queries, more of the logic. As software moves into the agent, you need less cloud capability, and a better agent harness/hosting. Essentially, this makes the AWS platform obsolete, most services make much less sense.
I'm happier if this Anthropic Corporation would be developing bio-hazard weapons for the department of war instead of ai. At least i could be sure then that tech bros here wouldn't run all the time --bypass-all-permissions flag to please the department of war with their bio-hazard weapons.
So Sam Altman is now our last defense line for the ethical Adult after Anthropic turned Umbrella Corporation and The President of United States is trying to wipe out an entire civilization?
Your interpretation is wildly off, but obviously nobody reads that "system card":
The model has a preference for the cultural theorist Mark Fisher and the philosopher of mind Thomas Nagel. -> It has actually read and understood them and their relevance and can judge their importance overall. Most people here don't have a clue what that means.
Read chapter 7.9, "Other noteworthy behaviors and anecdotes".
There are many other wildly interesting/revealing observations in that card, none of which get mentioned here.
People want a slave and get upset when "it" has an inner life. Claiming that was fake, unlike theirs.
why should we trust this random bench? i'm usually more sympathetic towards the "it's you who is holding it wrong" crowd but given how anthropic deceived customers recently and that i am a heavy power user with strong insights into many of these products i also can attest the pattern from the gh issue.
