Some things mentioned in this article - living 8 people to a room - have to give kickbacks to their manager - working full-time without paying taxes

These are nonsense, definitely not happening.

Infosys pays enough for people to live on their own. They may share apartments like many others in big cities.

Noone gives kickbacks to their managers at infosys, or any other big indian companies. Managers have to sometimes beg the employees to take up unfulfilling assignments.

How can one work in the US without paying income taxes?

I guess when you are talking on any sensitive topic, you might also talk nonsense to make it sound worse than it is.

This is very good to know. I wonder if having a bar stool can help.

I used to work on a shop floor where you had to be on your feet all day with just a lunch break in between wherein you get to sit. The first few days where killer, but the second week onwards the body just gets used to standing and walking all day.

One part of my rotation was through QA where we had tall tables to work on. We were provided tall stools to sit, and we usually worked half standing half sitting.

Can we finally kill blogs like this?

Any one and everyone is free to do as he or she likes, use adverts on their own site or not. Tim Moody should start his own video service sans any adverts.

What does he propose, a legislation or a movement to stop sites from using ads?

Are you really arguing in favor of youtube ads?

I am very confused. The author of the article writes that svbtle could have been the next tumblr. It's like saying my clean design html could have been the future facebook.

I think svbtle has a clean design and a good interface, nothign more.

If my instincts here are wrong, then I have to question my understanding and all the IT experience I have. I might be missing a big part of this svbtle and obtvse controversy.

I think the concept of "stealing an idea" itself is a sort of tribute to the person who originated it. But actually speaking ideas cannot be stolen.

What wiener did is commendable in its own right without taking any credit away from curtis.

But before this turns into a huge thing, please, come back to the ground. This blog idea or the style is pretty trivial. Its not as if this is linux or a programming language or anything like that.

Were I to be in curtis's position, I might feel like I should have been in control of all aspects of unveiling it to the public and noone must take any credit for anything. But then I would be childish now, wouldn't I?

Have we heard from curtis yet? Maybe his opinion is completely different than that of the article's author.
